Sheffield
GENERAL
INFORMATION
Sheffield is located about 25km south of Devonport, and has a
population of 1,000 people. It is known as the "town of murals" due
to a significant (and increasing) number of attractive murals on
the walls of local buildings, depicting the area's history.
ATTRACTIONS
In the foothills of Mt. Roland (left), Sheffield and the surrounding
area (known as Kentish) has plenty of both natural and man-made attractions.
Close by is Tasmazia, the largest maze complex in the world, where patrons
are advised to stock up on "survival rations" of pancakes before embarking
on their journey!
To the east of Sheffield there are thermal springs
near the town of Kimberley. Also be on the lookout for the steam train,
operated by the Red Water Creek and Heritage Society.
