Port Sorell sits at the mouth of the Rubicon River. It is the oldest settlement on the northwest coast of Tasmania, having been founded in 1822. Almost all of the old buildings were destroyed in bush fires. Port Sorell is now a popular holiday resort (water sports, fishing, walking).
